About the Event
Confront the Climate Crisis (CTCC) and Earth Charter Indiana are organizing the overnight "Climate Anxiety Resilience Retreat" to help CTCC's young activists deal with the anxiety and burnout that may arise through their work. At Climb Lafayette in Lafayette, Indiana from Saturday, Oct. 21 to Sunday, Oct. 22, participants will explore yoga, meditation, breathwork, food as medicine, and rock climbing as healthy coping skills and tools that build personal resilience and help manage acute and chronic stressors. This retreat will also be a safe community forum to discuss their worries and concerns in response to the weight, grief, and emotions associated with climate activism.
The program is being organized by Iris O'Donnell Bellisario (Earth Charter Indiana's Senior Resiliency Coordinator for Greater Lafayette) and Colleen Donahoe (Earth Charter Indiana's Operations Director). Guest facilitators will include Dr. Timothy O'Donnell (a local physician who is board-certified in lifestyle medicine), Dr. Kristen Bellisario (a professor at Purdue Unversity), and Darwin Nunn (a Purdue University education graduate who specializes in nature education.)
